Ellie Dooley, our youngest runner at the Manchester 10km 2011 has raised funds for the children of Mwanza. The funds were used to repair old desks at the Shamaliwa Primary School. Total of 131 three seaters was repaired and these will accommodate 393 students who sadly were sitting on the floor during the lessons. Shamaliwa Primary School has 1311 students in total out of which 40% are sitting on the floor during classes. The repairs of these desks cost Tshs 498600/= (USD $333 or about 240 pounds ). The students and the management thanked Ellie and her family for their efforts and wishes Ellie the best in her training and schooling. With the repair of these desks, TDCF helps the local economy in providing jobs for the local carpenters.
