Well No. 826 ,A Lifesaving Gift to Ikungu Subvillage, Maswa District
On the 14th of May 2025, a shallow well – Well No. 826 – was officially handed over to the residents of Ikungu subvillage, located in Bukangilija village, Badi Ward, Maswa District, Simiyu Region. This vital water source now benefits 285 families, serving an estimated 1,448 people on a daily basis.
This well has been generously donated by Masum G.B Mawji, in loving memory of:-

-Marhum Nawshad G.B Mawji
-Marhum Roshan G.B Mawji
The donation was made in coordination with the Nudba Group of Toronto, known for their charitable contributions in the spirit of humanity and compassion.
The handing over ceremony, held on 14th May 2025, coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Nudba Group, marking two decades of impactful service and community upliftment.
According to the Shia Islamic Calendar, the handover took place on 15th Dhul Qadah 1446 A.H., a sacred month traditionally associated with mercy, unity, and remembrance – making this donation all the more spiritually significant.
This well not only brings relief from water scarcity but also stands as a lasting act of Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity), ensuring the names of the Marhumeen are remembered with every drop drawn by the grateful community.
May the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace, and may this act of kindness continue to bless all involved.
