A Legacy of Compassion: Well No. 851 Brings Life to Isunura Village
On 21st July 2025, corresponding to the 14th of Muharram 1447 AH, Well No. 851 was officially handed over to the people of Kati Subvillage, Isunura Village, Mawindi Ward, in Mbarali District, Mbeya Region, Tanzania. This date, just days after Ashura, holds profound spiritual meaning in the Shia Muslim calendar, a time when we reflect deeply on sacrifice, service, and the enduring legacy of Imam Husayn (a.s) and the martyrs of Karbala.
This well, donated through the Islamic Humanitarian Service, is more than a source of clean water – it is a living tribute to compassion, mercy, and faith. It now provides daily access to clean water for 49 families and 330 individuals, significantly improving the health, dignity, and livelihoods of the local community.
A Gift of Sadaqah Jariyah (Ongoing Charity)
In the Holy Qur’an, Allah (SWT) reminds us:
“And whoever saves one life – it is as if he had saved all of mankind.”
(Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:32)
This well was donated in loving memory of three revered individuals:
-Marhum Nazarali Alibhai Panju
-Marhuma Surgabai Juma Jetha
-Marhum Husein Nazarali A. Panju
Their memory now lives on through every drop of water that quenches thirst, irrigates crops, and nurtures children.
Spiritual Legacy Beyond the Physical
By handing over this well during Muharram, the donors have aligned this act of generosity with one of the most sacred months in the Islamic calendar , a time of remembrance, sacrifice, and spiritual reflection. In the spirit of Karbala, where selflessness triumphed over tyranny, this well becomes a symbol of serving others for the sake of Allah (SWT) and humanity.
May Allah (SWT) accept this act of sadaqah jariyah, elevate the ranks of the marhumeen in Jannah, and bless all those who contributed to making this project a reality.
