Water Well No. 794 – Project Completion and Handover

We are pleased to announce the successful completion and handover of Water Well No. 794 to the community of Ibumba Subvillage. This well is now providing access to clean and safe water for 73 families, positively impacting the daily lives of approximately 511 people.

This initiative is part of our ongoing mission to bring life-changing water solutions to remote and underserved communities across Tanzania.

Water Well No. 795 Handed Over in Memory of Sascha Marcel Pogor

On January 3rd, 2025, Water Well No. 795 was officially handed over to the people of Ikungu Sub-Village, a remote community in Maswa District, Simiyu Region.

This well has been dedicated in loving memory of Sascha Marcel Pogor, of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, by his relatives and friends. Sascha’s life of devoted friendship and compassion inspired this meaningful act of generosity.

The Ikungu community has long struggled with access to clean water. Thanks to this donation, over 1,425 villagers living in and around the area will now benefit from safe, daily access to clean water.

The handover ceremony was filled with joy and gratitude. Villagers sang and danced in traditional Kisukuma as they celebrated the gift. Village leaders extended their sincere thanks to The Desk and Chair Foundation for making this life-changing project possible. They also offered heartfelt prayers for the donors and for Sascha Marcel to rest in eternal peace.

KISIMA NAMBA 786 CHAKABIDHIWA KATIKA KUENZI SIKU YA KIFO CHA BIBI FATMA ZAHRA (A.S)

Katika kuadhimisha na kuikumbuka siku ya kifo cha Binti mpendwa wa Mtume Muhammad (S.A.W), Bibi Fatma Zahra (A.S), The Desk and Chair Foundation chini ya uongozi wa Mwenyekiti wake, Alhaaj Dokta Sibtain Meghjee, imekabidhi rasmi kisima namba 786 cha maji safi na salama kwa wananchi wa Kijiji cha Katunguru.

Kisima hiki ni sehemu ya juhudi endelevu za taasisi katika kuhakikisha kuwa jamii zilizopo vijijini zinapata huduma ya msingi ya maji safi na salama, ikiwa ni mchango wa moja kwa moja katika kutimiza Malengo ya Maendeleo Endelevu (SDGs), hususan Lengo la 6 – Maji Safi na Usafi wa Mazingira kwa Wote.

Makabidhiano haya yamepokelewa kwa shukrani kubwa na wananchi wa eneo hilo, ambao wameahidi kulitunza kisima hicho kwa matumizi ya vizazi vya sasa na vijavyo. Hili ni tukio muhimu linaloakisi dhamira ya The Desk and Chair Foundation ya kuendeleza matendo ya huruma, ustawi wa jamii, na huduma kwa wote bila ubaguzi.

Well No. 791 Brings New Life to Mlimani Subvillage

We are proud to announce the successful handover of Well No. 791, a life-changing project delivered to the residents of Mlimani Subvillage, located in Katunguru Village, under Sengerema District Council, Mwanza Region.

This vital water source was officially handed over on Saturday, November 2024, and is now serving as a daily lifeline to the local community.

With 85 families and approximately 460 people benefiting from the well each day, the impact has been immediate and profound. Residents now have access to clean, safe water—right in their own community. The days of walking long distances in search of water are over, replaced by new opportunities for education, health, and economic productivity.

Before the well’s installation, Mlimani residents struggled with limited access to safe drinking water, often relying on unsafe sources that exposed families to waterborne diseases. The burden of fetching water, often shouldered by women and children, affected school attendance, family care, and income-generating activities.

Today, the scene has changed. The well stands as a symbol of hope, health, and dignity. Children are attending school on time, mothers are engaging in productive work, and the community at large is thriving with renewed energy and optimism.

Well No. 791 is more than just a water project—it is a promise fulfilled, a future secured, and a testament to the power of community development.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this possible. Together, we continue to bring clean water and lasting change to underserved communities.

Well No. 790 Handed Over on the Blessed Birth Anniversary of Bibi Zainab (A.S.)

On the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Bibi Zainab (A.S.), Water Well No. 790 was officially handed over to the members of Masjid Rahman, located in Kishiri Ward, Nyamagana District, Mwanza Region.

The Imam of the Masjid expressed heartfelt gratitude to the donors and offered special prayers for their generosity and wellbeing. This clean and reliable water source will serve the Masjid and the wider community, supporting:

-Wudhu (ablution)
-Washrooms and Ghusl Khana
-Watering plants and surrounding trees
-General neighbourhood needs

We pray that Allah (SWT) accepts this Sadaqatul Jariya and rewards the donors abundantly in this world and the Hereafter.

Well No 698

On the great occassion of the Birth Anniversary of Imam Mahdi A T F S a deep well has been handed over to villagers of Nyamikoma B village in Busega district in Simiyu region
This clean and safe water project will serve four sub villages surrounding the well , a health center which is about 150 meters far from the well and Nyamikoma Primary School which is 350 meters away from the well
From four sub villages which has total of 1400 (8400 people ) plus 200 patients at health center and 2649 students will be benefitting clean and safe water from this well
Prior to this well all people had to walk accross main road more than 500 meters to the lake to fetch water where car accident chances were very high , and hippo potamous and aligators threat was very high
This well will now be safe in all manners

On the great occassion of the birth anniversary of Bibi Masooma e Qumm on 11/5/2024 The Desk and Chair Foundation handed over clean water project at KITONGOSIMA VILLAGE in MAGU DISTRICT in MWAZA REGION
This project will benefit more than 2000 resident of the village ,840 children of nearby school ,a nearby health center that caters for the disabled children suffering from spinabifida, hydracaphelous victims and special water drinking facility for all village domestic animals

Commemorating the death anniversary of Imam Ally A S today on 19th of Ramadhan 1445 ( MARCH 30 2024 ) well no 730 has been handed over to LUTUBIGA VILLAGERS IN BUSEGA DISTRICT IN SIMIYU REGION
This well will benefit 105 families ie 826 people on daily basis
This well has been donated in loving memories of TEACHER SUKAINABAI MULJI (DAUGHTER OF MARHUM HUSSEIN MAUJI)
The recipient villagers were very happy and have thanked the donors for their timely assistance and prayed for the marhuma to rest in etrnal peace
