WELL NO. 848

A Flowing Legacy of Faith, Mercy, and Humanity

Location: Kati Subvillage, Isunura Village, Mawindi Ward, Mbarali District – Mbeya Region
Families Benefiting Daily: 46
Individuals Benefiting Daily: 387

In loving memory of Marhum Salha Bibi and Marhum Haji Ghulam Haider, Well No. 848 has been donated as a lasting symbol of divine mercy and human compassion. Situated in the heart of Mbarali District, this well is one of ten wells donated across Mbeya Region, now serving as a lifeline to nearly 400 people daily.

This noble act echoes the timeless wisdom of the Holy Qur’an, where Allah (SWT) says:
“Is the reward for good [anything] but good?” Surah Ar-Rahman (55:60)

And in another place:
“They give food-though they love it themselves-to the poor, the orphan, and the captive. [Saying:] We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude.”
Surah Al-Insan (76:8–9)
To give water is to give life. The Qur’an proclaims:
“And We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?”
Surah Al-Anbiya (21:30)

Water, as a symbol of purity, sustenance, and renewal, lies at the heart of spiritual and material well-being. This well fulfills both the worldly and the eternal mandate of Islam-to serve, uplift, and leave behind a legacy that flows with blessings.

In the spirit of Sadaqah Jariyah, this well continues to benefit lives long after the departure of its donors. It fulfills the teachings of Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a.s.), who said:

“There is no act more beloved to Allah than quenching the thirst of a believer.”

Contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals

This water project directly contributes to:

SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation

SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being

SDG 1: No Poverty

Each drop drawn from this well is a testimony of compassion, a shield against disease, and a source of social dignity. It embodies the Qur’anic values of mercy (rahma), justice (adl), and service (khidmah).

We extend our deepest gratitude and prayers to the family of the late Salha Bibi and Haji Ghulam Haider. May their souls be enveloped in divine mercy, and may their gift be counted among the everlasting deeds whose reward continues until the Day of Judgment.
“Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds… their reward is with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.”
Surah Al-Baqarah (2:277)
