Well No. 797: A LIFELINE OF HOPE IN MASWA DISTRICT ,TANZANIA
On 14th May 2025, a significant milestone was achieved in the journey of community empowerment and access to clean water. The Desk and Chair Foundation, in collaboration with the Nudba Group, proudly inaugurated Well No. 797 in Masanga Subvillage, located in Lali Village, Mataba Ward, Maswa District, Simiyu Region.
This life-changing project was launched in honor of the 20th Anniversary of the Nudba Group, a moment that was marked with purpose, gratitude, and the spirit of giving. Most importantly, this well has been dedicated for the Thawāb (spiritual reward) of Respected Mawlana Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi of Toronto, symbolizing a deep commitment to humanitarian values and interfaith solidarity.
IMPACT AT A GLANCE
Location: Masanga Subvillage, Lali Village, Mataba Ward, Maswa District, Simiyu Region, Tanzania
Beneficiaries: Approximately 40 families and 400 individuals benefit from this well every day
Purpose: To provide sustainable access to clean and safe drinking water in a rural and underserved area
Partners: The Desk and Chair Foundation & Nudba Group
This well is more than just a water source. It is a beacon of hope, a symbol of love and compassion, and a direct investment in the health, dignity, and resilience of an entire community. For families who previously walked long distances to fetch unsafe water, Well No. 797 is a daily blessing enabling children to attend school, farmers to nourish crops, and elders to live in dignity.
A GIFT OF LIFE, A LEGACY OF LOVE
The dedication of this well to the memory and Thawāb of Mawlana Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi beautifully reflects the spirit of selfless service that both the Nudba Group and the Desk and Chair Foundation strive to uphold. It serves as a lasting tribute to a respected figure who has inspired faith, compassion, and justice around the world.
As we celebrate this milestone, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that no community is left behind in the quest for clean water, health, and empowerment.
