A Well of Hope: Shallow Well No. 799 Brings Clean Water to 660 Lives in Lali – Dedicated in Honor of Sister Zehra Dilawar Hussain
On May 13th, 2025, a significant moment of hope and service unfolded in Lali Subvillage, Lali Village, Mataba Ward, Maswa District, Simiyu Region, as Shallow Well No. 799 was officially handed over to the community. This life-changing project, a joint initiative by The Desk and Chair Foundation and Nudba Group, was dedicated in honor of Sister Zehra Dilawar Hussain, the Chairlady of ISIJ Jamat – Toronto, on the occasion of Nudba Group’s 20th Anniversary.
This shallow well, a beacon of clean water and compassion, now serves 108 families daily, impacting the lives of over 660 people in the area. It stands not only as a source of life-sustaining water but also as a symbol of transcontinental unity, generosity, and lasting impact.
The dedication of this well for the Thawab (reward) of Sister Zehra Dilawar Hussain reflects the values of service and faith shared by the donors and the community alike. It is a meaningful gift from hearts committed to uplifting others, especially in underserved regions.
