The Desk and Chair Foundation is delighted to announce the successful handover of Well No. 892 in Ikungu Subvillage, Bukangilija Village, located in Badi Ward, Maswa District, within the Simiyu Region. This well stands as a lasting symbol of compassion, community development, and sustainable impact.
Every day, 248 families, equivalent to approximately 1,974 people, directly benefit from this clean and reliable water source. The availability of safe water not only supports daily household needs but also contributes significantly to improved health, enhanced economic activities, and strengthened community resilience.
This well has been generously donated as Sadaqatul Jariyah by a well-wisher in loving memory of Late Alhaj Murtaza & Mukhtar Meghjee. Their legacy of kindness and service continues to flow into the lives of thousands, reflecting the true spirit of perpetual charity.
Among the three wells handed over in Simiyu Region, Well No. 892 stands as a testament to collective goodwill and the power of humanitarian investment. It also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) particularly SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation-as well as Tanzania’s long-term national development aspirations toward Vision 2050, where no community is left behind.
