Official Handover of Well No. 852 in Nyangasada Subvillage, Mbarali District – Mbeya Region
On 21st July 2025 (corresponding to 15th Muharram 1447 A.H.), Well No. 852 was officially handed over to the community of Nyangasada subvillage, located in Isunura Village, Mawindi Ward, Mbarali District, Mbeya Region. This project is part of a broader humanitarian initiative in which ten (10) wells were completed and handed over across Mbeya Region.
Well No. 852 currently benefits 75 households, serving approximately 625 people on a daily basis. It provides reliable access to clean and safe water, contributing significantly to improved health outcomes, reduced water-borne diseases, and enhanced overall quality of life for the beneficiary population.
This well has been donated through the Islamic Humanitarian Service as a Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity), in loving memory of:
-Marhum Nazarali Alibhai Panju
-Marhuma Surgabai Juma Jetha
-Marhum Husein Nazarali A. Panju
The donation embodies the Islamic principle of service to humanity and aligns with the words of the Holy Qur’an:
– “And We made from water every living thing.” — Surah Al-Anbiya (21:30)
“Whoever saves one life, it is as if he had saved the whole of mankind.” – Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:32)
Contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The construction and delivery of this water point are not only acts of faith and compassion but are also aligned with the global development agenda. Specifically, the intervention contributes to the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
By providing safe, affordable, and accessible water, the well directly supports the target of universal access to clean water, a critical component of public health and human dignity.
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
Access to clean water reduces exposure to preventable diseases, especially among children and vulnerable populations.
SDG 1: No Poverty and SDG 2: Zero Hunger
Clean water enhances agricultural productivity and household food security while reducing economic vulnerabilities caused by water-related illnesses.
SDG 5: Gender Equality
In many rural areas, the responsibility of fetching water falls on women and girls. This well reduces their burden, thereby increasing opportunities for education and economic participation.
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
This project exemplifies effective collaboration between faith-based organizations, community stakeholders, and local authorities to implement sustainable and impactful solutions.
The successful delivery of this project underscores the important role of Islamic charitable institutions in advancing global development goals through faith-driven action. It is a testament to how spiritual values, when translated into service, can yield tangible and lasting social impact.
May the Almighty Allah (SWT) accept this noble initiative as a continuous charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), and may it bring eternal rewards to the donors and mercy to the departed souls in whose memory the well has been donated.
