On 30th January 2025, a new well was handed over to the community of Mondo Subvillage in Ng’hundya, Bungulwa Ward, Kwimba District, Mwanza Region. This well is a significant step forward in improving the lives of the community’s most vulnerable members, directly benefitting 67 families — approximately 700 people — on a daily basis.

Clean water is much more than just a necessity; it is a powerful driver for sustainable development. This well directly contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reflecting our collective commitment to creating a happier, healthier, and more equitable world.

– SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation — Providing access to clean and safe water for all, reducing water-related illnesses and improving health outcomes.
– SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being — Preventing disease and strengthening community health.
– SDG 5: Gender Equality — Reducing the burden placed upon women and girls, who typically travel long distances to fetch water, freeing up their time for education, employment, – and other empowerment opportunities.
– SDG 1: No Poverty — Providing a foundation for greater financial stability and a path out of poverty by freeing up resources for income-generating activities.
– SDG 10: Reduced Inequality — Ensuring that vulnerable and underserved community members have equitable access to clean water — a key step toward a more just and equal society.

This new well is not just a water point — it’s a lifeline, a symbol of hope, dignity, and progress for the community. Our continued collaboration with community members, stakeholders, and development partners helps make a sustainable future a reality for everyone.
